Hello and Welcome!
Hi, I’m Irah! Welcome to the NursingCollectiveCo community—I’m so happy you’re here!
I’m Irah! I’m a Canadian RN, Nurse Educator and a former Nursing Instructor to IENs, and a yoga teacher with a passion for teaching and mentoring future nurses.
I created this blog as a resource for Internationally Educated Nurses (IENs) like you, designed to help navigate the challenges of transitioning into the Canadian healthcare system.
My goal is to bridge the gap between where you are now and where you want to be—whether that’s preparing for the Inspire Global Assessment (NCAS), passing the NCLEX, or building confidence in your job interviews and nursing career.
Work Experience
I’ve had the privilege of working with clients from all walks of life. I’ve been working as a nurse for seventeen years. My background spans from public health, where I served as a Clinical Site Leader, to emergency care as a Forensic Nurse Examiner providing trauma informed care, to Nursing Instructor for Internationally Educated Nurses (IENs) specializing in leadership and management.
Each role has deepened my passion for mentoring, empowering me to guide nurses through the challenges and rewards of this fulfilling profession.
Where my passion lies
But here's where my true passion lies—sharing my knowledge and guiding the next generation of nurses. I’ve mentored high school students with the YWCA Vancouver and provided specialized care in psychiatric nursing and trauma-informed practices. Empowering others on their journey toward nursing excellence is what drives me.
I understand firsthand the importance of self-care and wellness for nurses. As a certified restorative yoga teacher, I incorporate mindfulness practices into my coaching and mentoring. These techniques help reduce anxiety, burnout, and overwhelm, enhancing test-taking strategies, clinical rotations, and job interview performance while building resilience.
As a former nursing instructor and private coach & mentor, I've seen the struggles students face—balancing work, school, family, and the daunting task of preparing for exams like the NCLEX, Inspire Global Assessments (CBA + SLA), and CPNRE.
I've felt that same overwhelm and uncertainty as a former student, which is why I've dedicated myself to bridging those learning gaps and supporting students with confidence and clarity. Together, we'll conquer the challenges, leaving no hair to be pulled out in the process!

“I really appreciate your guidance and detailed information on IEN application and all the necessary steps. I am so glad that I watched your youtube videos and contacted you for further discussion. Your suggestion on making a resume and cover letter to apply for jobs was very informative and helpful, guiding me to make plans to achieve my goals and directing me to what to do next and how to do it. Thank you for your motivation and encouragement. I hope all the IENs can get a chance to learn and get awesome knowledge from you.”
Thank you again,
Stuti P.

“Irah is a wonderful tutor who adjusts to your learning needs and style. With Irah, I was not only able to better understand class material but also build my skills in confidence in test-taking and studying. I would truly recommended anyone in need of a tutor to seek out Irah's support. :)”

“I find your insights and teachings to be very helpful and clear for learners. I also like your level of dedication and patience when teaching. When you hint answers but wait until the student tells you what they think instead of just giving the answers right away, it’s also really good”.

“I’m going to make sure that if I need anything in the future to prepare for preceptorship or exams I’ll reach out! Really love how safe and good I feel whenever we connect for a teaching lesson” :)

“Irah was absolutely wonderful to learn from. While helping me study for my CPNRE, she also assisted me with tips to cope with my anxiety. She would take time out of her own schedule to prepare lessons and practice questions for me, and always made sure to check in to see how my overall well-being was. She was able to recognize whenever I was feeling nervous about something and would pause and take a moment to talk about it. Between the studying and the breathing exercises we did together, I was able to use everything she has taught me while writing my exam. Thank you so much, Irah!”

“Your research and notes were eye opening but I’m not sure you’ll be providing other students with that, but for me that really strengthened my studies. Overall I think your nursing experience speaks for itself and your way of unfolding case scenarios or whatever other needs the student might have is super helpful. Also always good to have an understanding of what happens in the real world as opposed to school studies :) “.
